Yabby TV Guide

ATTENTION: DUE TO ZAP2ITs RECENT DECISION TO HALT ITS FREE XMLTV SERVICE, DEVELOPMENT ON YABBY HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY STOPPED WHILE AN ALTERNATIVE SERVICE IS FOUND. IF YOU KNOW OF ANY SUCH SERVICE, PLEASE EMAIL ME AT CHAMBERLAIN2007@GMAIL.COM. THANK YOU!

Hello, and welcome to the homepage for the Yabby TV Guide.

The Yabby TV Guide is a lightweight TV Guide for your computer. It downloads the TV listings for you, and shows you information on your favourite TV programs. It is easy to use; anyone who has every used a TV Guide on Digital Cable or Satellite can pick it up in seconds.

F.A.Q.

Q: What is a Yabby?

A: The Yabby is a small freshwater crayfish found in South Eastern Australia.

Q: What does that have to do with TV Listings?

A: Quite simply, I thought it sounded cool.

Q: What operating systems will Yabby work on?

A: Yabby is designed to be portable. Though mainly designed for and developed on a Linux platform, it could also be used on Windows, or Mac, though that would require some work. That will not be covered, but to make it work, you need Gtk2, and all of the perl modules needed to make Gtk2 work on Windows. You also need Perl, of course. You have to figure out how to do that on your own, though.

Q: Am I allowed to make changes and/or redistribute this code?

A: Yes. The code is licensed with a GPL license, and changing and redistributing it is allowed.

Q: I made a cool addon, wanna see?!

Yes! If you have made any cool addons or improvements, feel free to send them to me for inclusion in the code (if they work, of course!).
